It may be helpful to see them as the written equivalent of the kinds of spoken cues used in formal speeches that signal the end of one set of ideas and the beginning of another. I have done so much research and feel even more confused, as most research shows both ways and says that it is ones preference on how to do it. The easier to read is what most saycan you help?
