Good sentence starters for contrasts and abrupt transitions
This post is very helpful and perhaps I am over-thinking this,
but when I have single quotes inside double quotes that are at
the end of a sentence but not the end of the double quote, does
the period go between inside the single quote or after? Example:

sentences that reverse the order, as is often seen in dialog, I
assume that the rules would still hold, resulting in something
like this:

Please note the courtesy space between the single and double
quotation marks at the end of the last two examples.
