Since freedom of speech was limited, we educated ourselves on the legal system of Qatar and carried out our activities within its constraints. After surveying labor camps and collecting testimonials, we spread awareness about the laborers plight at our local community gatherings and asked for donations to our cause. With this money, we bought ACs, heaters and hygienic amenities for the laborers. We then educated laborers about their basic rights. In the process, I became a fluent Nepalese speaker. I was hungry. Thanx emma good explanation of the lesson. you should complicate more, the question to focus with you better. good teacher In order to properly complete an essay, it is important to allocate time in which to construct an answer. This is particularly crucial when a question is part of a multi-question essay exam. Once the amount of time available to answer the question is determined, the question is read carefully several times. If there are multiple questions, all questions are read in order to determine the order in which to answer them. Keywords identify what the question is actually asking. There are six different types of questions indicated by keywords: supported thesis, cause and effect, compare and contrast, process analysis, definitions and analysis. Once the type of question is determined, an essay style answer is constructed using the proper type of supporting material. It is a good idea to make an outline for an answer, and jot down a few key phrases on a piece of scrap paper or in the exam margins prior to writing on the sheet that is turned in to be graded. However, if someone said, Water plays a vital role in keeping a
plant alive. or Water plays an essential role in keeping a plant
alive. it implies plants cannot live without water, no? Or, is it
me? I welcome your input. Education is an important factor for
speaking with clarity, but it isnt vital or essential in order
for one to speak well. (My English may be full of mistakes, a
reason why I am using this site. ) I should add, I am also asking
for clarification because that was the only question I got wrong!
Ha! ;-) Answer: Your question is actually your
thesis answer, which of course is going to show bias because it
is your position. In order to make the essay work, you need to
decide what question you can ask which could have more than one
answer (or more than just a yes/no answer). Additionally, it can
sometimes be more effective to focus on how things could be
different and change for the better rather than just complaining
or pointing out the problems. In the course of talking about
changes, you can use evidence of the current problems to support
the need for change.

Important note: The University of California admissions folks would like me (and you!) to refer to these prompts as personal insight questions instead of essays or "UC personal statement". Why? Sometimes students associate the word essay with an academic assignment and that is not (as youll see below) what the UCs are looking for. That said, I sometimes used the phrase UC essay below because people search for UC essay example or "UC personal statement"ten times more than UC personal insight questions examples, and such a search may very well be what brought you here. According to the The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue, a good essay is focused, organized, supported and packaged. a good essay for college admission in humanities area? has been
some difficult to write my application essay to film school.
thank you so much The purpose of this type of paper is to
educate people. To convey the information of an essay clearly and
understandably, you have to know a lot about your topic. To
succeed with this type of essay, one has to make sure there will
be enough information for readers about what you want to discuss.
These are just a few topics examples for an informative paper to
help you out. 4. What does good writing look like in
your field? How can you convey this to students?
We
all know what good writing looks like in our fields, but students
sometimes dont even understand that writing forms, expectations,
and conventions vary from discipline to discipline. Whether we
like it or not, and whether we think we have time for it or not,
it is our job to teach students about texts in our
specific disciplines. Maybe that includes offering them annotated
sample papers.
IELTS Speaking: I dont understand the question. Advice & Tips
1) Common IELTS Essay Questions
Answer: In general, your topic should not use
the first person "I" because then your essay is only directed
towards you. If you are doing a personal experience essay, that
is all right, but most English class essays are meant to have a
broader audience. Here are some other topic questions that would
work: An essay's general statement is a broad
introduction to the paper's topic. For example, a
persuasive essay aimed at convincing the reader to take action
against global warming might begin with a brief description of
what climate change means. Below is a collection of some of the
best UC essay examples/UC personal insight question
examples Ive seen. Help! Did I fall into a rabbit hole?
I have understood the meaning of the word important, using
English, to indicate something that is significant but not to
indicate a keystone.
Whereas the words essential and vital tend to imply a requirement
or something which is indispensable; a must-have-or-else sort of
thing. For example Water plays an important role in keeping a
plant alive. or perhaps, Water plays a significant role in
keeping a plant alive. Implying plants should be watered.
" Thank you very much,Mrs/Miss Emma. Your lesson is so good especially with the quiz section. At the first I still think how to use paraphrasing when I watched the video, but after took the test I felt oh this is it. Thank you very much, once again :) Paraphrasing is so much handy when writing an essay, but it takes words, which takes improving vocabulary, which takes researching. For those who like to read, dictionaries can be pretty handy with their definitions to put these synonyms into practise, too. Bye the way, thanks teacher Emma. This lesson is very important. Well, actually lve learnt at my school how to write a good essay, but l have to admit that this video is much more useful. and which the teachers at school dont teach me is the concessions. it is pretty important and academic. many thanks to you Emma You have to be very careful when selecting a theme for your paper. Sometimes it looks easy, but a lot of students forget about the type of academic writing they must stick to. There are several essay types, and sometimes the topic itself is as important as the type of paper you are assigned. The way you formulate your argument heavily depends on thean essay type.
Are your grading criteria clearand thoughtful and
reasonable?
We know that clear grading criteriawhether in the form of a
rubric or a narrativeis key to student writer success, but its
not as simple as assignment weights to columns such as Grammar
and Thesis. In order to think deeply about how were grading, we
also have to interrogate what assumptions we have about our
student writers? What do we think they already know? Why do we
think this? What do we prioritize in an essay, and more
importantly, why is that the priority? Do our priorities align
with our learning goals for students? These answers to these
questions too should be transparent to students as they embark on
your writing assignments. Answer: How about "Is
English a Crazy Language?" I generally suggest that you start
with a question that could have at least two answers. If there is
not a different opinion on the subject, then it really isn't a
good essay question. I do think that "crazy" is a bit of a vague
term, although it would make a good essay title. You will need to
define what you mean by "crazy" and also compare English to other
languages (not just one) that are less "crazy.
